You have to wonder what they were doing out at 1:30 in the morning with guns in the first place. And laughing???? They probably knew what they were going to do when they left the house.

that makes me so sad
I hope the people are caught and along with whatever criminal charges, have to pay the cow's owners money for lost revenue since they made money on milk

The monetary damages could add up quick with the lose of property the cow and her calf she was pregnant with. The lose of revenue from those two cows.

Wow, Polly how awful. What a cruel act. I have rancher friends and the damages and loss of security is the hardest part . I hope these criminals are prosecuted to the highest extent of the law. Keep us posted.

This was really horrible. So sad. Poor cow and owner is really so sad about this terrible happened. I hope those responsible for this will be caught immediately to pay for whatever the've cause.

The whole thing is beyond comprehension. Their objective to kill and destroy, just evil if you ask me. A lot of small farmers out here are rather attached to their milking cows. Many are still hand milked and have names. A lot of cows out here are so tame that if you stood by the fence row they'd come right up to you expecting a scratch, or just to give you a good look over like they were saying hello. At the very least having someone come up to a field of cows fence row would seem inconsequential and would elicit nothing more than an eyeballing, followed by heads dropped to graze. Happy most likely, never had a second of fear of her killers. They are heartbroken that someone could do this, and yes, this is a very hard blow for a small dairy farmer.
We'll see how this plays out. I'm hoping they are stupid like most criminals, and just can't keep their mouth shut about their exploits.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That is the worst for small dairy farmers, raw milk is like liquid gold. You are right to many this is their pets and special to them as well as milk for the family and livelihood.
