Default Do these things happen you you too? Karma related

We have a pair of LL Bean boots for Sophie that were just too tight in the leg to comfortably get on and off...they were 60 bucks online...so friends were telling me to sell them on ebay...craigslist whatever...but I said no I'm going to post them on infomall to giveaway to someone in need...low and behold not 30 minutes later a woman phones and asks if the boots are still available and I say yes...she mentions that she hasn't been able to outfit her DD for footwear due to money(single mom with 4 kids) and is on the waiting list for low income housing...so I ask if her DD is needing any clothing in sizes 6/7 and she is quiet for a moment and asks...are you serious? I said of course...so on Wednesday I sent Her DD...1 pr winter boots, 1 pr new running shoes, 2 pairs of PJs, and 7 winter outfits including a holiday dress...she is to receive them today...but the uncanny thing...I got notice of my grandpas will today and in a week or so am too recieve a $20,000.00 inheritence...Hows that for Karma...you can't tell me it doesn't exist. Thanks for reading!

How thoughtful and kind of you to ask if she needed clothing! Yes, give and you will receive. I am sure you made that lady the happiest woman in the world!! Sorry to hear about your grandpa though.

i stopped believing in karma as a reward for good deeds - i know way too many people who are selfless in how they will help others before doing for themselves and never seem to catch a break themselves .

    I agree with you.
Unfortunately, where I live, I've learned the meaning of this saying:
    "No good deed goes unpunished."
The more you do for some people, the more they want and the less respect they give back.

There's a balance to strive for:
"Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down and shaken together, shall men give unto your bosom."

    AND

"Cast not your peals before swine; they will trample the pearls, and turn again, and attack you."

In the end, a person has to commit it all to the Lord, and let Him sort it out.

I'm very sorry for your loss, but I also found your generosity touching.

I had something similar happen to me...I sold something to someone on ebay... it was clothing, I think a whole outfit or something. She sends me this message telling me that she would have paid me but she hadn't received her disability check for some reason and would pay me as soon as she received it. When I heard that, I just messaged her and told her dont worry about it and sent the stuff to her gratis. She sent me several thank you emails as well as a thank you card in the mail! there are lots of different ways to receive back. its that sort of thing that makes it fun to give to people.

I don't care what you call it - karma, what goes around comes around, pay it forward, etc., I BELIEVE! If you try to be a decent human being you will be rewarded in some way! Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there a little bit and you will be surprised at the results.
