Dang it!!!
I came home from work and let the girls out. While they were doing their business, I decided I would make myself lunch
I got out my pickle jar, a 1/2 gallon of my bread and butter pickles from summer, my LAST jar.... dang it!
I got them on my sandwich and when putting them away, I realized the shelf had some pickle juice on it.. dang it!
So while I was wiping the bin, the jar slipped from my hand and went THUD on the floor... dang it!
This is the old, broken, missing pieces by the baseboard, ceramic tile floor... dang it!
This jar was 3/4 full of pickle juice and it was all heading to the low spot on the floor; the place where the 2 inch tile was MISSING.... dang it!
I grabbed some dish towels to catch as much as I could, I dragged our pickle soaked, very old area rug outside on the porch (needed for our former oldest dog so she could walk in the kitchen). The dry rotten backing of it left a trail of dust... okay, PILES of dust in all the crevices and on the tiles... dang it!
So I'm walking through dust with sticky, wet feet trying to soak up the mess, I have to walk on the carpet (which I shampooed four times last weekend) to get my cleaning supplies... dang it!
Its raining outside enough that I can go onto the porch and clean my feet in the rain so when walking back through the kitchen I can just trail dust instead of sticky dust through the dinging room but I'm out of wet cloths for the swifter... dang it!
So I grab some wipes (non flushables that I accidentally bought and now use for little spills) but on the swifter, they can't cut through the sticky... dang it!
I'm on my hands and knees wiping up the sticky with dust at my feet and the lovely smell of pickles at my hands, I could just cry... dang it!
I get everything done, I vacuumed the carpets, and I've declared the kitchen out of order for the evening
and when Greebo gets home he asks if there was any in the basement.... dang it!
We go downstairs and I think I got off lucky... but no! DANG IT!
I'll need to tackle that after I shower. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

Aww, ceashels, I hope you were able to get everything squared away, this is so what would happen to me. It cannot rain but pour kind of situation.
That said on a less serious note...........I have to say that you are the only person I know other than myself who puts bread and butter pickles on their sandwich, folks look at me like I sprouted an extra head when I do this.

Wow, your mess was way bigger than mine, today.
I had some seafood in a bag-in-a-box on the counter in the kitchen. Looking for some room this AM, to set breakfast dishes, I moved it to the floor (yeah, the floor). With T-day coming, that how much of a mess my kitchen is. Luckily I mopped yesterday.
My son is in the basement, playing his guitar, with wires running all over (yikes) and says there's a yucky smell coming into the basement and it is liquidy. Wanted to know if someone flushed and the pipes are broken, lol.
Yeah, I guess jossling the bag-in-a-box of seafood got it leaking. So, it's all over the kitchen floor, while I wasn't looking, and all down the wall in the basement and etc. Yuck. So, I get a bucket of bleachy/soapy water and scrub.... baseboards, and all. DS, bless his heart, goes into the basement and cleans up the mess down there and sprays Lysol. I'm gonna have to scrub it good, but they are wired for sound down there(DSs and friends) and playing music. I don't want them standing in a puddle and playing. I can't imagine what the inside of the walls are gonna smell like when that begins to dry. Ugh.

I love B&B pickles on sandwiches!
What a mess! I think this needs to be a night Greebo takes you out to dinner, budget be hanged, and you can tell him I said so.
The only comparable mess I ever had was when I put frozen raspberries in the blender and turned it on before replacing the lid. They exploded everywhere, and I never did get all the raspberry bits out of the pointy textured fluorescent ceiling fixture. Happily when I moved, apparently the apartment management didn't notice.Donna

Don't feel too bad. I "christened" my brand new kitchen this morning by pouring the contents of an ENTIRE raw chocolate chip pecan pie (4 eggs, butter, liquid syrup, sugar, pecans, and chocolate) when placing it into the oven. Not just a splash, oh no! I tipped the ENTIRE pie plate onto the open oven door, which drained into the drawer below, containing ten cookie sheets, which all had to be washed to get off the sticky mess. I also used an entire roll of paper towels to soak up the mess. It at that time crossed my mind how someone who had given up paper towels would of handled that large and sticky of a mess. Glad I bought those on sale. Worth every penny!

Ewwww. It is kinda funny, only because you know that we have all had some type of episode in the kitchen with making a BIG, BIG mess. I know we will all have some type of stories to tell tomorrow.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY WITH LOVE AND PEACE TO EVERYONE.Hello from Sunny Central Florida
