Living in a RV
has anyone ever considered it? I found a blog about a family that sold their 2,700sq. ft. home to live in a 360sq. ft. RV....was very interesting

It would beat being homeless, but I would not do it by choice.

I have read a lot of these over the years because my son wants to travel the world so I could figure out why he wanted to do it. I could not granted my house is too big 32 or 35 00 square feet.

My grandparents lived in an RV for 30 years by their own choice and they loved it! Can you share the blog....it would be a fun read.

My family and I lived in an RV for 15 years. Two adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. My DH worked and his job required the travel. I am so glad we aren't doing that now and have a house and land but I would not trade that experience for anything. We made lifelong friends and saw places we never would have been able to afford to go to otherwise. I would NEVER sell my home to do it though. I would always want a place to come home to when I got sick of traveling.

Dh and I have considered it for our early retirement years. Only because we want to travel and leave the cold. I have a wealthy client who did it for 5 years following the warm weather.

My dad does it in the summer, he comes here from AZ. He loves it. His RV is huge though, cost more than my house!

This sort of small space living always fascinates me. I love the Tumbleweed House homepage as well.

I could probably do it if I needed to - after I use up my yarn stash. I don't think both of us would fit in one.

We are currently living this lifestyle. I personally would not do this by choice again. We are trying to find a home to rent. I have lived in a 5th wheel for 2 years because of job loss/new job and some other issues.....prior to this I had a very nice home.....Wish we could have kept the home.....I know that there are people who enjoy this, but not me....

We have a 38?(I think) foot 5th wheel and while I love love love it I can't imagine living in it for a long duration.
I know of people who do at the lake park where we keep our camper and to hear them talk winters are brutal. I live in Texas so to hear brutal winters is enough to have me say no I would not want to.
I also have a dh, 2 kiddos (24 and 16) 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds and a darn hermit crab that plans to outlive us all.
Now, on the plus. I am one payment away from having the camper paid off(13 month early thank you very much!!) and if it all went south I do know I could gather up the family and the pets and we would have a place to go.
Lot rent is $1800 a year. water is free. electric goes from $90 to $25 each month depending on the season and you have to fill your gas tanks or hook up to a propane tank from the city.
I know people who do it, like the security of knowing I could if I had to but no I like my house. The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!
