So that's why my shirts are so long and baggy, I have no bust!!

Seriously, I am the size and shape of a 12 yr old, but I don't want to wear Miley Cyrus shirts thank you very much.

I think we should send a copy of this thread to clothes designers & manufacturers. They wanted feedback right? IF they want profit, they best start making clothes for REAL WOMEN which is not a cookie cutter of a model. I hate to say it but the 'average woman' isn't what the clothes are modeled after. An 'average woman' has always been smaller or larger then the clothes available.

Apparently its 'sexy' to show 'flesh'. The designers never have to see the flesh of 'real women' hence the reason why they keep designing the same unrealistic type clothes.

Shop the juniors department those shirt look like a V hanging on the hanger. lol

Also do you know the modeling photo technique to make shirts look nice fitted and not baggy at the waist ( catalogs don't do this do they?)Pull the shirt in the back and clip together. Learned this from a do the models really look like that shows.

The pre-teen and teen girls here ( not shopping the junior department) like event t shirts all seem to pull the shirt in the back like this to fit at the waist secure with a hair band.

I remember the side tie of t shirts in the 1980's to make t shirts fit closer to the waist. Did anyone else do that or was it a local thing? There was also a slide thing you could buy to well slide the shirt in to cliche it up.

Yes I had a slide thing, wore it in the front and to the side. The girls do the tie-in-back thing around here as well. I did it for awhile, I tuck the "tail" in underneath but found while driving it creates a hard knot right at the small of my back, UGH! Unbearable and I didn't want to risk the low-rise of my jeans so I stopped doing it.

For those who don't know the slider thing looked like this: http://www.alamostyles.com/media/00/...96515bea_m.jpg and it would be worn like this: http://www.shindigz.com/images/itm_img/10SZEIGTSC.jpg

    No, that is not me.

Every figure type has its own challenges. I'm glad that my sewing skills are adequate enough to do simple alterations. The tough stuff gets shipped off to the seamstress where she works her magic.

Nope I didnt know that about the models and clipping. EEEEKKK juniors don't fit the "girls" and the styles seem to be so clingy. Where are you seeing the v shirts? That may work! I totally remember the tied T's. I'm an 80s teen

Krbs~ too bad we can't share! No Miley clothes? LOL

I would just like the manufacturers to stop discontinuing and item after I discover it is perfect for me!!! This is happening a lot lately with plus size pants.

Like most women over 50, I have the little puff in the stomach. I'm petite about a 12, so why do they think I would have a huge butt and hips. They fit in the waist, but are huge every where else.

My best fitting jeans are Mens Comfort fit Levis: waist size and length are perfect for me. (Stole from my DH, who 'only' wears Carhardts, so these weren't being used.) I'm 5'10" with short legs, if that's possible. The jeans fit snug around tush and belly (yep I am a bit 'fluffy') and the legs are a straight cut that look like the 'boot cut' you pay extra for.

Womens pants and slacks need sizing options: waist, length and rise measurements would be a great start. However, I've also had problems with ll bean pants that you do order like this.

I see the v shaped shirts at Goodwill from the teen shops like Areopasale, American Eagle, Areochomie and Finch. All the shirts there from those brand tend to be V shaped and there at tons of those brand there but they do go fast.

Plato's closet has those brands too.

My gripe is I have a hard time finding shirts long enough. I do not want the shirts to stop at the top of my waist. I want them to at least cover the tops of my jeans.

Styles are starting to change to longer length shirts and that makes me happy.

YES! Really all I want is a plain black (white, grey, tan) long sleeved (short sleeved, sleeveless) shirt. Why oh why is that so difficult? I don't want to pay $50 for a shirt, nor do I want flowers, sequins, fringes or pithy sayings on my shirt. Sigh.

And don't get me started on the jeans with rhinestones on the butt, or 'artistic' rips in them. I can rip my own jeans, thanks.

LOL, I remember the slider shirt thingy. I used a floofy scrunchy on mine...wow, floofy scrunchies, blast from the past!

Oh yeah, krbshappy71............that is a blast from the past!

I was too cheap to buy the 'actual slider' and used a belt buckle.......the kind for sewing that you could cover.
I never could get the shirt 'tied' like some did........
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
