They are a great organization. I have made little quilts for the NICU, the babies rest on them and gives a little homey look for parents. I also make cuddle sized quilts for our police cars. They give them to children involved in accidents, house fires or domestic situations.
I have logged in many, many hours to our Historical Society. As temporary Curator and care taker to one of our buildings, we (DH and I) keep the walks cleared of snow, cover the larger windows with foam board insulation, start up the furnace, weed the flowers and schedule the necessary inspections and meet with restoration specialists. (Sprinkler testing, boiler, and tank inspections). I will also be heading up the summer display. These are my "gifts in kind".
