Default Northern Lights, new season, 2011

It's been a pretty quiet for the last little while. After a few great shows in the summer and early fall, there has been little activity for nearly a month, maybe more. I was finally able to get out for a few nights where there was both clear skies, and aurora activity. Here's a few shots. Temperature was around -26C with 35km/h winds.

Here's hoping for another active year! Here's some from last season: flickriver

Those are amazing shots! We had them here a few times earlier this Fall and one time, I caught them extremely bright at about 11pm. We don't have as much light pollution in our neighborhood here as we did in Calgary, so I get to see them a whole lot brighter than before. I love Aurora Borealis so much.

WOW! That is so amazing to see. Hopefully I will get to see them in person one day.

    Great pictures.

What beautiful pictures!!! I've only ever seen green northern lights. Brings back great memories of living in Labrador (the only place I have ever seen them like that)!
