    Default Can I growl?????

On top of just helping ds with his $ problems so he can continue to work and getting a whopper medical bill from dh's accident we had to take our older car in last Fri. Another $1000! That almost officially drains the last of what was ONCE a FFEF. Yes I am crabby!

At least you had a EF to cover those expenses. Imagine how crabby you'd be if you didn't have that money available!

It's a bittersweet feeling...happy you had it saved up, but disappointed it is now gone. Hope you can fund it to where it was soon.Hugs!

So, assuming someone is following the Dave Ramsey plan, what does he say people should do if their emergency fund is swallowed up like this one and another crisis hits?

If you feel this is hijacking the thread I can move it to DR section, but my heart just really went out at the thought of someone working so hard for their EF and then having it wiped out. THEN WHAT? How is one not supposed to use credit cards when they are out of money?

    Sincerely,

I don't know the answer honestly because we didnt follow DR all the way. Just the snowball principal. We had 9 months of expenses at 1 point and enough cash saved for our newer car and poof ~crap happens and gone! I do wonder what DR says.

Sheeesh dh and I were once the poster children paying off 46K in debt and getting the ffef. Blah! Now we owe $1400 if ds defalts ( yes the payment is in the budget) and have to start over with the baby ef. Come on Jan so papa gets his raise!

Nope, we are officially in debt 1,400 for ds. Part of ds's help needed was cash and part is on credit at 3%. Granted the kid should be giving me $200 a week to pay on it but I am prepared if he gets a job loss etc. The kid needed the vehicle to keep his job. Can't walk 31 miles 6 days a week.

Also I do not have the $ for the med bill from dh's accident to pay in full. The other 9k was paid in full this year. This time they get payments as wi are tapped out!

I paid in full for the $1000 car repair and ds'2 broken bones med bill . Sorry I didnt explain that BETTER.

Now lets not add insult to injury and have the township hike our taxes again. We got the escrow check yesterday but never get the tax bill before Dec 24. I am crossing my fingers it doesnt hike like last year. It doubled. I figure our over a year long of everything under the sun but jobs crumbling can not continue.

I know we save money for our EF for things such as this, but I hate, hate, HATE to spend it when I have to. (Sigh) I totally understand how you feel. As everyone else said, at least y'all had it to cover the unexpected things and keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that nothing else comes up and you can build it up again in no time.

You know what the biggie really is? I mean I honestly know it will all work out and get back in shape. I saw it in black and white today doing some planning and forecasting. MY "safety" gauge goes crazy when there is not much $ saved.
