Default looking for the name of a cookie

I had these at a party a few years ago, found and then lost the recipe.

It's a thin cookie, wafer like, probably made with lots of butter and sugar because they cook up and have a bit of a lacy look to them. Two of those are put together with chocolate and jam. There may be ground nuts in the batter.

    Sound familiar to anyone?

Yes, I think it is some variation on the lace cookies, but I swear I don't remember oatmeal in them. Thanks.

I googled 'lacy cookies with chocolate filling' and got a slew of recipes, some of them were called 'Florentines'. Does that ring a bell? Many of them did contain oatmeal.

I think if you google the same, one of the recipes will 'click' with you. You might remember something....

Florentines are made with ground almonds , so that could be where the nut taste came from. Lots of recipes for florentines or almond lace cookies out there!

Florentines! Yes, that was the name. Thank you! And now that I know what they are, I have been able to find my recipe.

ContraryHousewife-found a recipe you might be interested in. The cookies were called Praline Lace Cookies. I have a recipe for that cookie if you don't find one.
