This year she got about $400 of toys/gift cards for her 3 kids, given to her by the director! I'm not against the volunteers getting a little something for their time spent, but I disagree with 1 volunteer getting (2) $100 gift cards, 1 $70 Imaginext toy, and other things (those were the biggies). While $ is tight in their household, her kids were in no danger of having none/a small Xmas, and I found it VERY inappropriate the person who runs this was so generous to a volunteer, when so many kids will get nothing this year. I myself would be MIGHTY irritated to find out the $70-100 'gift' I spent my $ on to give a child a good Xmas went ot a volunteer who's kids had Xmas all set for them. I have never said as much to my friend, but I won't donate a darn yo-yo to that particular drive! --------End of vent---------
I myself am irritated over the same type of issue going on. Someone I know and yes they are just like everyone else is struggling.Helps a local church a few hours a months. This person not only called all the local churches to say she needed help with food and toys for her kids the one church she helps ended giving her food, gift cards, toys all kinds of stuff. I bet she got at least 30 plus gifts for her girls each. A few hundered dollars in gift cards for local stores a few hundred in food. A friend and i were getting together yesterday to buy a few small things for her girls until be found this out. SO selfish and sad. She calls it a blessing we call it GREED. There was enough to take care of at least 12 to 15 families.. I was not happy. Broke my spirit yesterday.

My trashy neighbors that have no little kids go to the food pantry all the the time as seperate households. They all get food stamps and eat steak all the time. This year the food pantry was giving 2 bags of food to each family plus a $30 gift certificate to the local grocery store. They got 10 bags of food and $150 in gift cetificates.I saw them all at the store loading up on steaks of course. The food pantry also gives toys to people for their kids they get toys there take them back to Walmart for the money. This really burns me but I figure they will get whats comming to them someday.

Yep to each there own!. I help when i can. Its getting harder and harder these days and its making it tougher to help when you see more and more greed.
