Question What stays open in your neck of the woods on Christmas?

Here the gas stations on or near the high way exits stay open as well as one fast food place near the high way exit.

The rest have will be closed for Christmas Day ( most restaurants close after lunch on Christmas Eve as well)

Even Walmart will be closed on Christmas day.

Can some one fix my spelling/typos in the title

I forget to check for those in the title. Maybe that should be my new years resolution LOL

the 24 hour walgreens is the only thing I know of in my area that stays open. Some years we open presents, put dinner on and then run out to Walgreens to get the first choice on Christmas gift wrap marked down for the next year.

I have also found several places that are going to be closed on Monday as well this year since Christmas is on a Sunday.

Umm...the groceries will stay open a half day. Except for one, maybe two out here that will be open the entire day. Gas stations & mini marts will be open, CVS will be open, movie theaters will be open, most restaurants will be open. Wow, never thought much about it, but there will be quite a lot open.

Chinese restaurants will be open, restaurants in the city will be open (mostly right smack downtown for the tourists) Hotel restaurants will be open b/c people need to eat even on Christmas while traveling. Gas stations, select Tim Horton's, Shoppers Drug Mart (one with groceries), Starbucks, movie theatres, casino & their shops/restaurants.

I don't know of a single business that will be open here on Christmas. Many will be closed on Monday since Christmas falls on Sunday.

Much like pollypurebred's response, a lot of places stay open, at least half day, on Christmas around here. And the movie theatres make a big profit from people who have a tradition of going to the movies on Christmas day! I never knew it was such a big thing until a friend of mine told me about it. Apparently, the theatres are PACKED that day, and some movies actually release on 12/25 for that reason. So, worst case, I could spend about $40 on a ticket and a box of Raisenettes and at least stay warm and (relatively) fed and entertained.
