Telephus44: I'm with you. I just need to make sure my goals are actually doable and achievable. In looking over the budget we are going to be very restricted in what we can do. It's going to be hard to decide what to do in 2012.

I do like the idea of a notebook to track them all though. Thanks geckoace!

You're welcome. I spent some time on my goals this morning. Part of that was going through some old goals to see what I did with them. I also found notes on a book on life coaching I'd read a few years ago. I'm going to modify some of the material from that and see what direction to head in this year. Still need to talk to DH...maybe tomorrow. today when I asked him what he wanted to do in 2012 he answered "Win a million bucks!" Poor guy.

I'm thinking about my goals too. I have 19 of my 20 wishes but need to decide on that last one. I want my goals to be smaller things that lead up to some of the twenty wishes; at least some of my goals.

I'm going to get all my 2012 goals written down sometime this week. Off the top of my head, if we manage to get through the small financial crisis that we are dealing with at this moment, then for next year I will concentrate on building up my stockpile, lowering spending/costs as much as possible, building back up our emergency fund, expand my garden, and do some much needed home repairs/renovations.

Hubby and are do this after New Year usually on Jan 2.. This Jan is gonna be tight but it will all get done. WE have food and cleaning supplies so it won't be that bad......
We start with a list for the house of what needs to be replaced and disguarded. So far a wok, and probably a new mattress. Tires for the mini van....
Next we start a list for our selves : mine includes new bras, undies, sweat pants and shoes. Church clothes. Which I will look for on clearance and used. ( not undies, bras, or shoes)
Then will do the same for Hubby and Grandma.
Will buy what I can used or on sale or clearance.
Then a list for paint and ect. We rent so we can paint but we have to buy it... Gonna paint the kitchen for sure...
The next goal is also to start saving... WE HAVE NO EMERGENCY FUND.
Hubby and I also said to stockpile more food, cleaning, and hygiene. so it is a start....

I have a huge goal this year and some little ones. My husband and I work several side jobs along with our FT jobs. I want to take all that money we make on our side jobs and make an extra mortgage payment every month. I have been paying extra but I really want to go at it. We never know when those jobs will end so I want to really use it for something I can see. Along with that I'm going to get my food bill under control and lose back the 40 pounds I've gained for about the 50th time. Maybe posting this it will keep me on the goal.

my one or I guess technically two financial goals are to remain consumer debt free and to have more in savings than I do today.

I've started making my lists for the new year, biggest one is budget. We eat far too much take out food and I need to limit that to a couple of times a month. I need to cook a lot more from scratch. Its just my 19 year old son and myself and we spend WAY too much on groceries.
I've started making my spring to do lists, I've started folder to keep frugal garden/yard ideas. I need to do some landscape, planting etc this spring and I'm looking for DIY projects that I can do cheaply. I tried container gardening last year on my porches and that didn't do too well for us so I won't be doing that this year, just putting some tomato plants out around the fence.
Setting a lot of personal goals this year too. I want to devote more time to the things that make me happy. Quilting, crafting and scrapbooking.
Many many goals for the new year. Always happy to see a new year ring in. Love the idea of a fresh start.
