back when I was into natural cleaners, I used baking soda and vinegar a lot. There are lots of sites out there with different uses. White vinegar does have antimicrobial qualities. Here are some of the frequent uses I had
-I would shake baking soda down kitchen drains, then add some white vinegar. Let bubble up and sit for 5 minutes and the flush with hot water. This will help clear drains and keep them fresh.
-put vingegar in a spray bottle. After each shower, spray the shower and curtain. After about 10-15 minutes, the vinegar smell will dissipate and help mildew from growing.
-shake some baking soda on a sponge and add enough water to make a paste. You can scrub with this mixture.
-put vinegar into a spray bottle and use it as a cleaning sprayWife to Air Force DH for 7 years.

There definately is antibacteria properties using vinegar and/or baking soda. I will wash the floors with vinegar and water. Once in a while I will wash the floors with water and chlorox.
This arm & hammer baking site will help you:

You do not need to purchase arm & hammer. I always buy the cheap store brand. Same with white vinegar. I purchase the gallon size bottle that is really cheap. Always stock up when it is on sale.

you can also make a "soft scrub" type cleaner with baking soda and dish soap. (I use washing soda, but my daughter uses baking soda) also if you use Dawn, it works great for stubborn things that have grease involved. Vinager water works great for cleaning glass. There are a lot of cleaning receips here on this site, most of them work very well.

I keep a plastic container full of baking soda in my shower. Every couple of days I use it as a face scrub. Exfoliates and is gentle on the skin.
