Unexpected Christmas Present
I just went through the process of having a virus removed and installing Norton Anti-virus on my computer. Oh Yea, just what I did not have planned but am trying to look at it as a special treat for myself. So it is a christmas present. While I find the whole ordeal taxing and very annoying to go through I have to say getting through on Christmas and having a tech support person being able to help you is very impressive.
Was able to NOT snap out to many times. It is how I get when I don't not understand the person I am speaking to and am worked up about something wrong with the computer. Man, the tech support people really do put up with alot. Especially from the really low tech users. lol
Anyway, hope everyone is safe and enjoying the holidays.

My Dh does tech support for foreign clients. And yeah he does put up w/ a lot. Currently Brazil is abusing him.lol
One year I found the big red staples "easy button" at a garage sale so I gave it to him w/ the following note: Push to blow up client on phone". Nice comical stress reliever for .50.

I am guessing I probably got the virus from a game I apparently downloaded on an msn gaming site. Only reason I say this is the tech support person asked if I had any games on my computer.
I very rarely play any games on the computer but was looking around to find some games for my cell phone. Thought a MSN site would be safe since I have msn on my computer.
Not happy about spending the money but glad I had it and the computer is working so far.

I have much sympathy for your plight as we just went through this over the Holiday with our laptop! Luckily hubby was able to fix it after much trial and error and using the desktop in his shop to upload some sort of fix onto a disk to install onto the laptop. It worked, after a few hours and many 'choice' words....but I had to go use the desktop to change all our passwords on email, bank and retirement accounts just in case any spy ware was involved...what a pain! Hubby has since re-installed Norton- we had it before, it had lapsed, won't let that happen again!
