Cool site for coin info
Current Melt Value Of Coins - How Much Is Your Coin Worth?
Most of you probably know that we used to mint coins in valuable metals. Eventually those metals were phased out and now the metal value of our coins is less than the denomination. As an example, the Washington quarter used to be made of silver, and the value of that silver today is about $5.
This site has a list of coins that are made out of those metals, so you can go through your change jar and find them.
I think they have Canadian coins too.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

There's been a lot on the news lately on penny hoarders. I thought it was pretty interesting (word choice meaning compelling not in a negative way). LOL
I am drawn to people that do things like or similar to this. Sorta like the shows Storage Wars, American Pickers, etc. It's just fascinating to me. Like I'd love to do it, but don't want to go through all of the work to do it. I've done buying and selling of collectibles and antiques and it is a lot of work.
I can just picture me buying up all the pennies at the banks in town and storing them in our garage, basement, closets, etc. Oh wouldn't Gabe just love me even more?! LOL
I used to get all into wheat back pennies when I was a kid. I never did anything with them, but was always looking for them and Buffalo/Indian head nickels. LOL
I don't see many older coins in my loose change anymore.
They really stand out now.
