2011 was basically unmemorable, which is suspect is, on the whole, a good thing. No real ups or downs. Expenses went up, income didn't but not unmanageably. Everything was pretty much even keel for which I am grateful. I love a quiet life - LOL.

Always grateful for another trip around the sun.

2011 marked the retirement of my friend and co-worker of 23 years, so 2012 will be a little lonely at work. I also went through my very first whelping of a pregnant dog this year, which was an experience I am VERY glad I had the chance to have. I think I was neglectful of my family, and need to improve my relationship with them. I tend to just do my own thing and not think about them, and I think they feel left out of my life (which is accurate). Maybe a good resolution for 2012....
Reunited with my best friend from grammar school a few months ago. She now lives in England, so I am planning my first trip there this coming summer! We were inseparable in childhood - basically, her mother might as well have been mine, and vice versa. We drifted apart in college, as we went to different campuses and were also both involved in relationships. It will be interesting to see her again, and to see if the old bond is still there.
I think, overall, 2011 was a good year. But that doesn't mean 2012 can't be better!

2011 was a good year but also a bad year the good of it is we were able to get gaurdianship of our 3 year old granddaughter, was very happy we were able to do that and that she was not in a foster home.
The bad my daughter is making no progress to be the mommy my granddaughter needs so for now I will continue to love on my granddaughter and try to help my daughter .
I injured my back at work 3 times and was taken out of work for 2 days and when my PCP let me go back I found out I had no job to go back to now I'm on unemployment and in the middle of a comp case when I just wanted to go back to work .We took a huge finacial (sp) hit on this.
Then the Friday before Christmas my DH was rushed to the ER they think he had TIA's or mini strokes and possibly lung cancer he spent Christmas eve and part of Christmas day in the hospital.
I'm afraid my 2012 may not start out the best but we are remaining postive and handing all this over to God He will supply the needs . Great thread thanks for starting this .DH's chemo has ended and his Radiation treatments end Mon May 14 yeah...!!

2011 the good and the bad.Let's see-first the good. A new great-granddaughter, a new grandson by marriage, a grandson graduated high school in Georgia so a lovely trip down there in May, my 89 year old mother had a hard time with her health but is doing very good now, a good mammogram, no huge money problems and I was able to pay extra each month on my car so that it will be paid off in 2012.
The bad-I ended up in the hospital with a reaction to medication for a sinus infection,no more steroids for me, grandson's wife left him while he was in Afghanistan, he came home in August and immediately got another woman pregnant. my daughter left her husband and he nearly had a nervous breakdown but they are back together now, my husband's MS is getting worse and he is facing another health crisis and the day after Christmas my granddaughter moved to S.C taking my 6 yr old great-granddaughter whom I almost raised and was the only thing that made my life worth living when thigs got really bad. I am trying very hard to live life without her but it's so hard.
I didn't mean to write a book, I'm sure there were many more goodthings that happened that I forgot to mention but I am hoping that 2012 is a much less stressful year.

Its interesting to see how people assess the events in their life. Reflection can be very eye opening.

Good: I've felt so much better health-wise (gall bladder out 2010 Thanksgiving), losing (and keeping) weight off - 10 pounds so far, talking to my mother on a semi-regular basis (after estrangement of 9-12 years), my stockpile/pantry is in excellent shape (if only I can maintain an updated inventory!!), I keep learning homesteading skills, my DH and I have grown closer, I've learned I can keep the wood furnace going a week by myself when DH wasn't here, Learned all the tax stuff is so much easier to prepare if everything is all in one place, and me-time is very important! (read, scrapbook, devotions, etc)
Bad: Had appendix out before too much of a problem (thought it was food poisoning. . ), my job may end unexpectedly - afterschool program coordinator (running out of funds), having harder time quitting smoking than I thought I'd have, lost my FIL in July - the holidays have been rough, everyone forgot my birthday (Jan 2nd), I've learned the chickens eggs WILL freeze if I don't check for them before 7:30AM
Ugly: I can't seem to keep my office clean - it's where I craft, scrapbook, read, wrap gifts, toss junk that don't have homes, etc.
I need to jot down things monthly in order to be able to reflect!!Vermont has two seasons: Wintah and the Fourth of July.
