Default Not the way I wanted to start the new year....

Earlier today, I received a call from DS#3 who was in the next town over visiting his GF. She was driving and the stop light turned yellow so she began slowing down to stop in anticipation of the light turning red. The guy behind her must was not paying attention because he rear-ended them. Thankfully she has a big pick-up truck because it didn't suffer any damage, but his car had to be towed away. It was leaking fluids and the front end was smashed in. Everyone said they were ok, but I think the kids will be a little sore for a while.

I just hope this isn't any indication as to how the new year will be.

Well, sounds like a worse year for the other guy?. Accidents w/ our kids (or anyone) are so scary. So glad there was no damage to the truck or any injuries. Blessings.

Scary yes - and it sounds as if there is an angel looking after your DS and GIF - a true blessing.

Glad they're okay. I just hate when stuff like that happens.

Sounds like the accident when my family was rear-ended by Jesus Christ. The hitch receiver on our van took the brunt of the collision. We lost a bumper and a Zap For President bumper sticker. (I still mourn the loss.) JC's car was totaled.

I wouldn't look at it as an indicator of how your year will be - I'd look at it as a reminder to drive cautiously and defensively, and to always wear a seatbelt.

~Glad they're ok! I'm not surprise though that in that situation they were rear ended. Most people expect everyone to speed up and go through the yellow. Happened to my brother too.
I'm always thinking about that possibility out in traffic. It's scary how many people tailgate my mini-van with my kids only 10-15 feet away from serious injury.
The highways are cluttered with Guardian Angels, that's for sure!~
