    Default I lost it

[SIZE="3"]I had to take some stuff to storage today and I saw this plastic file box I did not recognize so I opened it up and it was all my sons letters from high school and his awards. I started crying and I haven't been able to stop.

Oh Fern I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do or say that would ease the ache in your heart. Sending big hugs.

Fern - what a blessing and shock to have this happen. I am so sorry for the remembered pain of loss and yet I am so glad that you can cry - a gift to heal the heart from above. And the blessing is to have the letters and rememberances for when you want to read them again. Take care my friend.

Fern, I know what you are going thru. I was putting some papers away and came across a list my son had made of what he wanted for Christmas this year. I broke down and bawled for about a half hour. Sending you hugs.

Ouch. But you're a brave and courageous woman to share your journey through this pain with others. Many times your posts touch others who have also lost a child and comfort them that another knows the level of their own agony. Other times, you reach other parents who have not lost a child but that might some day, and then they will remember your words, your dignity, and your survival techniques. I appreciate your sharing your wisdom as you acquire it. Your son has an awesome mother.

Cry, cry, and cry some more. Crying is healing, I don't know why people are so ashamed of it. Hugs and love to you.

Don't think of it only as a sad thing; think of it as God and your son reminding you of some of those special things he did, and of your pride and joy in him. Blest be the tie that binds us in love, through life and death, and in eternity.
"Love is as strong as death; many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it".

At times, I come across my own son's special mementos too, and though my heart breaks each time, my love reaches out to him in spirit, once again.
