So I say I want to work on handleing stress in 2012 - getting lots of practice so far
lots of practice handling stress, especially with financial stress.
1)the vacuum gets caught on something and breaks - have to spend money to fix it - more expensive repair then one would have thought
2)car repairs need to be scheduled - not as bad as we anticipated but we also found some maintenance things that needed to be done too - hard to accomplish in a one car family
3) Finished loading our dishwasher. Our dog came up to see what was going on and got her collar caught on the rack. This scared her so she ran away with the rack attached to her collar. Dishes went flying all over the kitchen - some broke - replacements will need to be looked for but it isn't an emergency - just frustrating that things break and have to be replaced.
4)it "Rained" in the kitchen which is right under the bathroom. wasn't an overflowing tub like it sometimes is or a shower curtain left out. No the tub or it's pipes are leaking some how. the plaster on the ceiling has decide it doesn't want to stick to the ceiling anymore it has given up. So it will need to be torn down, pipe is the ceiling worked, the the ceiling replaced.
5) prong on my wedding/engagement ring is loose/worn down so no wearing it until it gets fixed. Have to look for a good jeweler
And it is only the morning of Jan 4
Yes practice at handling stress. All this while planning for and buying gifts for the three birthdays this month, Buddy's, Little Miss's, and Hubby's
Thought I was handling it well until I found out I was yelling in my sleep. Waking Hubby and myself up. Apparently, I need more work on handling stress.Last edited by imagine; 01-04-2012 at 11:10 AM. Reason: add another happening

Wow, that is a lot of stress. With that much happening, it almost sounds like a Three Stooges episode rather than real life!
It's good that you immediately seem aware that "this too shall pass" and that, even for all that, you're still really blessed. I do hope you get all that taken care of quickly. I know that would all bother me, too.
Totally debt free since January 2011.

Chamomile tea is supposed to help relax you. You might try a cup before bed (and maybe a few cups during the day on those more stressful days).

Oh and the stress just keeps coming
A birthday gift someone wants to give one of my kids is not age apporpriate and would cost us $$ in keeping it.
A child of mine was careful but still lost some sentimental item given to her for Christmas and I have a thing about lost or misplaced things. It is very stress causing to me.
My MIL's Facebook has pictures of her visiting the other grandchildren over Christmas break she was coming to see us this summer but we got bumped off schedule despite her being in our state and only an hour away several times this summer. Hubby thinks he might be being punished for not being able to visit more. It feels like the pictures were to rub it in probably not the case but it feels that way.
The high school decided to not tell the freshman their final test grades in math because several "most" failed their tests. Makes me nervous for grade cards coming out this week. The freshman are all on edge too.

Welcome, welcome to my world. It's not a nice place but eventually things go dim and you feel kind of numb so you don't care anymore.
Yesterday,I found 2 vintage ornaments that were so cute and about 40 years old in a vintage Bronners box (famous xmas store here). I got them for .15 a piece at the resale shop when they had 75% off. !5 minutes later one is smashed on the floor from the dogs tail.
I was reorgaizing the christmas items today. Just happily zoning along. When I opened a box to find my cat had urped up on all the tissue paper. In a closed box.
I went to McDonalds,1st time in years,And ordered 4 doubles and 4 plain cheeseburgers, $8. and change. The kids takes my CC and charges me for the guy before me's sale which is less. So the supervisor says go ahead. I pull up and they hand me the guy afters order. So I correct it. Not plain anyways. How hard is it?
On and on. Ya gotta laugh. And say at least. At least the piano didn't fall thru the ceiling w/ the plaster, the stone wasn't lost "somewhere" like mine, say no to the birthday gift, lock the door from the kids and give mommy dearest facebook page the finger. We don't like her anyway.!!
