Question Are you gift cards bringing or burned a hole in your pocket yet?

Are you itching to spend some of your gift cards you received as presents? Have have you already scratched that itch?

We have not touched a penny of our gift cards yet. No one seems to want to yet. That is probably because 3/4 of the family has a birthday this year and they are waiting to see what they will get for that.

And boy, oh boy, it is nice to have some gift cards left to splurge on dinner out or that one want item say in June or even October.

I only got 1 gift card this year... $15 for Walmart, I decided when I got it that I would hold off and collect gift cards throughout the year and use those to buy burthday/christmas presents with in 2012. I did aquire a $5 target gift card last week when I bought lean cuisines so now I have 2 in my collection

~Well I tried to yesterday. I got a Boscov's card for my birthday. Boscov's is a regional discount department store. I was going to get one or two pieces of discount luggage since DH will be going to CO to scout it out. Everything was too pricy for me. But by the time I figured that out I had the bug to get the luggage so I kept shopping other places until I got a great deal on a 3 piece, hard-side set.
We did need the luggage but I spent $100 of our money, not my free gift card money. *sigh* ~

I spent a little of my HobbyLobby & JoAnns cards, but still have some left that I will wait until later this year....when things get really tight & I have no cash for supplies. We are waiting to spend our GC for IHOP for Valentine's day.

I only received one this year. For a lunch place I frequent when I'm working downtown. It won't last long.

I used the JC Penny one on shoes (along with that lovely $10 off $25 coupon they had out earlier this month), and today if the rain lets up Im using my $25 exxon gc on gas, since I'm practically running on fumes. Using the $20 virgin mobile gc to top up my phone for January, and will save the subway gc for one day when I forget to take my lunch to work.

Yep. I am going shopping today to buy myself some clothes from Kohl's. I've been saving a gift card that i am going to add to my new one. And of course, I will be digging through the clearance racks.
I ran my life into a ditch big time and i am tired of struggling, i need a change and i need it now. Trying to change past behaviors so they are not the indicator of future behavior. That is why i am here...

I'm sorry to say that I have the impulse control of a spoiled three year-old. I have spent my giftcards from Penneys, Barnes and Noble, and Starbucks. But, I did get some cool stuff that I'm really enjoying!

I heard recently on TV that many gift cards are never used. I find that so hard to believe. What a terrible waste!
