many moons ago for my graduation my brother gave me a pair of posts that had hand crocheted butterflies on them that a friend of his had made. they were only maybe 1/4 in tall and not quite that wide, they were beautiful.

Dried beans, or if you want to risk life and limb drilling holes through them, you could do a dangly earring. Or small art pieces glued onto a backing and made from lentils and small grains (rice, couscous, etc.) - painted or plain.
Coins always look cool in jewelry.

Thanks everyone. My daughter really loves making jewelry. She has taught herself from books/mags and some online sites. She also does beading around ornaments, ceramic easter eggs, and right now is working on beading around a bottle for a friend who wanted something unique. She has done some designs of others while learning but now does her own.
SabrelvsSammy she is 25 now...but during those teen years I might have considered adopting her out. LOL
...oh and she just graduated from college and is going to teach high school. She does the beading for fun. She amazes me though with the designs she comes up with.
Sabre I was also thinking scrabble tiles....the wooden ones. Also if you wanted to go industrial there are lots of little nuts and bolts that you might could do something with. Walk down the aisle at a hardware store and you might find some things.Wife of Danny for 28 years...the love of my life and my best friend..
