Default Spent 5 days in the hospital blah!

What a wonderful way to start off the New year. Just got out this morning. Wed I started feeling sick knew something was up started having chest pains ect. I knew i was in full blown pancreatic attack. Sure enough i got there , they thought i was having a heart attack. But i said check my amylase and lipase levels. Sure enough lipase should between 25-50 mine was 8000 my amylase should be between 2-32 and it was 700 so i was toxic. Liver enzymes were all messed up. Heart beat off beat. I was a mess. so i was npo till Sunday morning. Took all my meds away from me. kinda like detox i guess. Now on a very soft diet which is mash taters, chicken broth, jellos and pudding for 2 weeks. I don't feel bad since my levels now are under a 100 but when your in the hospital you get no rest at all.... So gotta start reading and catching up.

    OMGosh, what crazy enzyme levels!

I had the same 'sort' pain in Oct. (chest) and it was my gallbladder. Stones, inflammation. They took it out.

WEird how pain can be in one area, and the trouble is in another area. (??)

I agree about the rest. Doctors and their 3-4 residents hitting your room at 4:30am......Your IV making beeps every......nurses waking you up for vital signs.....
