    Default Alpaca wool socks

I am wearing a pair of alpaca wool socks. What a little slice of heaven. :-) That's all, just enjoying my socks.

Alpaca is wonderful. I knitted a sweater out of it year before last, and it is still my "go to" sweater for feeling warm and comfy.

I misread the title of this as Alpaca wool sucks.

And I was coming here to tell you that you were WRONG! WRONG. WRONG!

I'd dont have any alpaca socks but I recently made a hat and a cowl. SO soft.

Does this material itch? Wool makes me itch, just wondering about Alpaca?

It doesn't itch. I have alpaca scarves and have no problem wearing them, unlike wool.

I have 4 pair of alpaca wool socks and love them. I got DH some for his stocking this Christmas and he loves them too. They are the best!

I knitted a pair of Alpaca wool socks for my Mother a couple of years ago. She loved them, but she wore them a LOT and the heels wore through quickly. Enjoy yours while you can!

Alpaca is considered "hypoallergenic" No itching here. That's why I bought a pair to try.

I won't say I am allergic to sheep wool, but when I deal with it, it dries out my hands and eventually they crack. For instance: I made Wool Felt christmas ornaments and by the time I was done, my fingers were dry and split on the ends. Youch!

I bought mine at a local farmer's market. Let me see if the alpaca farm has a website...

Yep, I found it. Moonlight Rose Alpacas
