Wow when it rains....
So my Dh has been on work comp for a back injury since November. Just found its a herniated disk. So still off for at least 3 more weeks, fine. Yesterday he got notification that his company merged with another and they "discharged" him. I am a little worried but will be calling a work comp attorney we were referred to. I am asking for prayers, PLEASE! Thank you in advance!

Companies can be a real PITA when it comes to job related injuries. By "discharged" do you mean fired, laid off or they stopped his comp payments? If they are still paying his comp then you might not need a comp attorney right this second. But, depending on the rules in your state you might want to talk to an attorney about a wrongful discharge suit if they fired him.
My dh also injured his back on the job back in 2000 and when we finally settled with the comp insurance company he had to sign a voluntary quit notice....which really bothered him for a very long time. He won't ever be able to work again as his back is ruined for the rest of his life. He damaged 2 discs in the cervical area and his entire lumbar region is shot. Best of luck to you & yours...."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon

Talk to your lawyer. The laws are different depending where you are, but in Co. you can get discharged and it doesnt mess with your workmans comp. (At least it didnt here, Its been along time since I settled)
I found I Had to keep my attorney. The Insurance co just wont offer you enough to settle. I ended up paying my lawyer 33%. But it was worth it, in the long run. Just do what he says and you should be ok.
I also wanted to mention, the insurnace co can also take their time, I was on comp for 12 years. My lawyer says they will stall as long as they can, hoping you will go away, and they won't have to pay.
Another thing to look out for is if he will need surgery or anything after he settles his claim. Usually after you settle you have to pay if you have any more trouble. My attorney checked my DH insurance to make sure I was covered on it. Saying a prayer it all works out for you, Good Luck!Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

Comp payments will continue we have been told. They did fire him in an extremely UNPROFESSIONAL manner none the less. We honestly do not even know why...I am putting all of my faith in God right now. We will be fine with his payments and my job as we have been since November. I am more angry they did him like that after so many years of service with the company.

I definitely know what you mean!!! I was so angry with both the company my dh worked for (for 20 yrs.) and the comp insurance company. We did get comp at first, then they cut it off, then they gave it back and then they cut him off again and we sued them. They thought we'd go away but, we didn't and we won in the end.
Don't ever give up hope and give your dh a hug...if he's feeling anything like my dh felt, he is feeling horrible. When my dh couldn't work any more it was like the bottom fell out of his world. It has been over 10 years now and he still has those days."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon
