    Default just heard great news!

We have been fighting septic issues for a couple of years now and a permanent fix would cost us $6000 with no guarantee the ground would perk properly. We didnt want to put the money into it when rumors were swirling of sewer hookup in the future so we have been buying time. The water company sent out letters in Sept outlining the project. We got our hopes up only to hear that not enough residents were interested. Fast forward to yesterday. There was an article in our local paper that the project WILL happen! Woohoo! It will mean our water bill will double but it will be so worth it to be rid of the septic tank! What we will get is more of a modified sewer with a grinder pump located close to where our tank is now so it is a little different than traditional sewer. I am so stinking excited!

Will it be an American septic system or EuroPEEin?

Yay! That's exciting...some of DH's family are in houses with septic systems and it just seemed like hassle with what you can and can't flush/drain in the house

Our town is getting new sewer system also .The EPA is forcing them to do it.I think it will be alot better than what we have now even though it's going to cost 5 million dollars.I have to get rotor rooter every couple of years done on mine where it goes into the main in the middle of the street. The plumber says it's a shame it's not even my sewer line the roots are in as I have new line that roots can't get into.

We've been on a septic system for seventeen years and haven't had a problem. It's not a hassle so far. We do limit the use of bleach, of course.
