I need a funeral outfit
My friends mother passed away and I am going to visitation tonite. I have 2 funeral outfits 1 chocolate brown slacks with a chocolate brown sweater with with a mock white shirt underneath. or a cream sweater.
black slacks with a black sweater, same cream sweater, or gray sweater. I am so tired of wearing the same thing every time somebody dies

Sorry to hear about your friend's mom. I, too, have a limited choice of clothing when someone dies...but, I always hope the funerals are so far inbetween that no one will notice.

Wear black; that is the traditional colour for funerals, because it shows mourning and respect. It does not matter if you wear the same outfit each time to different funerals. No one will care if it's the same outfit. But they will notice if it isn't black.

Any dark color is fine. It doesn't matter what you wear as long as it's respectful. Your friend will be glad for your support. So sorry to hear of her mothers death.

I don't think it matters what you wear, as long as it is respectful. When my dad passed his GF wore a KELLY GREEN pantsuit to the wake, however she did tone it down for the funeral.
It's like a wedding, no one else really notices what you are wearing if you are not the reason for the occasion.

I would agree with Incognito I would wear black, but in alot of things such as this am pretty old fashioned.

Wear what is comfortable for you and on you.. I think any neutral color is acceptable.

Me too. And unless it depends on the area of the country being different........when I went to my cousin's wife's funeral there was EVERYTHING there.......(not neon).......but even denim.
I was worried cause I have NO black......but was fine in my neutral color pants........even though I had to have a color in the shirt.......it was pastel. I didn't feel out of place at all.
And..........everyone is so upset with the death I would bet no one could have told you what I had on...........they are paying their respects............not watching for a fashion show!

I have a dress that I picked up a couple years ago on clearance that I wear to funerals. It is a 6 in 1 dress, which means you can wear it 6 different ways. For funerals, I wear it as a top over nice black pants.

I can tell you from my experience that I would not remember what you wore but that you were there.
