    Default Wow...ummm...SNOW!!!!

I live in the Lacey / Olympia WA area and for a place that averages 5 inches of snow a YEAR....it is crazy to have 8 - 9 inches or so easily in my yard and it is still coming down!! Report is we won't be done for awhile and have the potential of seeing 12 - 14 inches before this is done. Yowzer!!!

I feel fortunate that I can work from home and not worry about going out in this stuff. It just would not happen for this girl!!

My dh was supposed to fly into Seattle today, but his connecting flight is cancelled. It's coming down HARD in Boise too, about an inch an hour.

We have about three inches (and growing) in my area near Seattle. Everyone who can work at home seems to be doing so today, including me.

Stay safe. Only snow around here was in October. Keep on waiting for that big snowstorm but if it does not happen will be happy with that!

My brother lives in Lacey, too, and keeps sending me pictures of the snow. It's pretty. He is so excited because he was born and raised in Southern California. Plus, this means St. Martin's (where he teaches) is closed today. So, Snow Day!

Glad you don't have to go out in it today.

    paralyze that city............

and now today, on the 'east side' of the mtns. we are getting it...........didn't get enough yesterday to even cover my yard! Think we will make up for it now........It is a MONSTER coming in!

Well give it back. We have 1" and its weird. We usually get that kind of snow and I want it. (michigan)
    No sledding,ice fishing, or FUN.
I would suggest shoveling more often. It gets heavy. Mkae sure it doesn't accumulate of roofs and stuff. Have fun!

We got 8 inches last night. And then, we got a few more this morning. I am dreading the yardwork it has caused. We have tons of branches down.

It was sort of funny. One twin tried to kill the other one today. Q was out playing in the snow and Toad suggested that he take out the compost while he was dressed for outside. Q was cold and came inside instead. Apparently, about the time he would have been out at the compost pile had he done what his twin had suggested, he would have been hit by a widowmaker.

    Widowmaker:
Widowmaker (forestry) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Widowmaker or Fool Killer, also known as broken limbs, and broken tops, is aptly named for causing fatalities to forest workers. Used commonly in the logging and forestry professions to describe the presence of a hazardous object in the canopy of a tree. OSHA describes widowmaker as: “Broken off limbs that are hanging freely in the tree to be felled or in the trees close by.”[1]

Melodys-oh for goodness sakes thankyou! That was hilarious.
As a Michigan person I can't breath now. It is just second nature to us to drive around w/ a bag of cat litter or carpet squares and a fold up shovel. I guess too we have salted roads.
Sorry. And the day 2" of snow would stop me. hEHe!

Oh,just watched it again. Apparently no one knows how to gear down or understands the word "torque".

    Is that snow over ice?

One of those cars was a Subaru that should have had no problem in regular snow like that. Nothing moves well on ice.
