The CME apparently just arrived, about an hour ago, but nobody told the aurora last night. Around 8:00pm CST last night (Monday the 23rd), the sky opened up. I grabbed the camera and headed out back.

After major show subsided, I took a run down to the beach to find them hiding in the northern sky.

Hopefully the skies are clear tonight, and the magnetosphere is still ringing from the impact.

    Thanks!

Exposure time depends on the brightness of the aurora and the other settings (iso and aperture). Normally, I usually am around 20 seconds or so with the exp. time, but these were so bright, I was around 1 - 5 sec.

I set up for some interval shots for a time lapse, and I should have enough for a short one. I'll have to put it together when I get home from work.

We were suppose to be able to see them from Colorado last night. I looked and couldn't see anything.

I Love seeing your pictures, some day I hope to see the real thing.

Thought I had a few more pictures than this taken from a stationary point, but I guess I didn't. Oh well, here's what I got:
