Jc penney making changes

I saw an ad on tv with people screaming "no" at the coupons and sales that were yesterday. The ad ended with "enough is enough" and sited jcp facebook and the date 2.1.12

So I went searching to see what the changes will be

found this - It is changing it's pricing

"Wednesday 11:15 AM J.C. Penney (JCP -1.9%) unveils a major transformation plan including a new pricing structure designed to draw in consumers. In essence, the retailer will offer fewer sales and more predictable pricing, in order to gain loyalty and avoid chasing hyperactive bargain hunters."

I hear they are also planning to change their store layout and their logo.

Our local store just finished with their remodel. I hope they still send out the $20 perks for having and using their card!!

I think it was on the Ellen show that I saw that JC Penny was also going to try selling more made in America products. Personnally I am one of the hyperactive shoppers. Meaning I like their end of season sales.

I'll have to see because yes,thats the only time I shop anywhere is for the deals. 40% off may still not cut it.

I quit shopping there because their quality is horrible. Everything I buy there falls apart.

my sisters mil retires from Pennys this month after about 30 years there.

They are changing everything!

No more full time employees. No more door busters.

Oh, so that's what it's about? I mute the TV as soon as that annoying ad comes on. What is it lately with all the screaming ads? It makes me want to shoot some ad writers in the head, and it sure doesn't get me to buy a product. I didn't even know this stupid ad was for Penney's, let alone what it was about.

They are NOT doing themselves any favors w/ that commercial either. Anyone you talk to says how irritating and offensive that screaming commercial is.
i remembered our $80. curtains that crumpled so bad because they were nothing but sizing. And how awful it was trying to find dress clothes there in June for Ds's graduation. They are gonna fall. Too bad,they are really the last dept. store to speak of=

I use to shop there quite a bit, but their quality isn't as good as it use to be. Of course, I find this true with most stores.

I haven't seen the TV ads. Noticed a pop up earlier today about everything being 30 or 40% off... new pricing or something. Didn't pay it much attention since store marketing seems to change so often. It would be nice if they started selling US made items that were good quality. I really miss the quality US made linens found in the earlier 90s.

Me too.

When my kids were little I always looked forward to shopping a Penny's for clothes. Not any more. There stuff is crap.

I'd say they have the same quality as Wal Mart ( another store I refuse to buy clothes in)

Can't say too much about them since they sent me a $50/50 gc few weeks ago which I really enjoyed shopping with....It's a shame tho that they are getting rid of their full time employees....more people un-insured....scarey...

Didn't K-Mart do this years ago to help with restructuring when they were in trouble?

JcPenney went bankrupt in Canada so I don't get their sales.

Oh, so that explains why I didn't get my $20 perk for January. How sad to not get it anymore.

I made that go a long way with their clearance prices. ^SIGH^ One thing I did sadfully notice lately, is the bedding and bath towel quality has gone way down. I used to ONLY shop there for those items, but I recently went looking for a new comforter set, only to find crappy fabrics, and literally, paper thin sheets in the sets. Give me back the quality, and I'll wait for the sale!

Sounds like another one will bite the dust!
