In this area............I would say car gets taken.

And 'generally' if they are going to high-jack it..........they will toss you out and take car....my doors are always locked.

My purse goes over head, across shoulders, and does not come off while in stores.

My keys are NEVER in my purse while shopping.......in pocket.

Overall, you do what you can..........and what you have to do for your area...........after that, it is out of your hands!!

I don't see how they could ticket someone from out of state.

We took my oldest teen shopping with us. When she set her purse in the cart, I watched for her to turn away. Then I lifted out the wallet, and DH stuck it in his pocket.

10 minutes later, she noticed it was gone.

I hope it's a life lesson for her.

I see that all the time, and every single time I just shake my head. It seems like people are in a bubble sometimes, thinking because they are standing right there, their money is safe.

My mom had canvas shopping bags stolen out of her cart in a grocery store when she was right there. She thinks the thief must have thought her wallet was in them. Luckily, it wasn't.

Great article. I don't have a password on my phone and I really should. I'm going to do that today.

Lol, what exactly are you supposed to carry in your purse then?

If the only thing you have in your purse is money and credit cards, there's no need to carry a purse. I don't, but it seems like those who do have everything and the kitchen sink in there, make-up, hairbrush, Kleenexes, personal hygiene products, snacks for the kids, hand wipes, coupons, etc, etc. So IMO it would make sense to carry the valuables in a secure pocket and leave the other stuff in a purse.
