Planning a "Girl's Nite"
Looks like it's getting to be my turn to host. Of course I want it to be fun, so thought I'd ask here.... what is YOUR idea of "great" way to get together with your girlfriends? The most recent ones were a movie night, chocolate party, and one of those "sales" parties. All had snacks, and that's another question I had, any snack ideas?
Would love your input!

Is it a get together that only lasts for a few hours or is it an all nighter?

my girlfriends are eaters. Cheese and crackers. celery and dip went well, they left the baby carrots they feed them to their kids too much.
chocolate of course. we are also potato chip people or fancy crackers...
would be fine for most get togethers but mine are eaters so chickne salad, wraps would have to be thrown in.
with mine booze or cokes.
hope this helped we are simple gals no themed luches or get togethers. last time we had krispy cremes and coffee..enjoy

Game night? Set up various board games throughout different areas of your house and let everyone get their game on?
Wine tasting night? Everyone brings one bottle of wine and y'all taste & grade the wines...maybe find a new fave?
Belly dancing night w/Moroccan cuisine? You can prob find an instructor via the local gym club or recreation centre.
Cooking lesson night - hire a chef via local community college/culinary school to cook a cuisine that y'all are not accustomed to.
Volunteer together as a group at the local food bank, soup kitchen, childrens hospital, animal shelter etc then host a dinner back at your place.
Lastly - more frugal: a pot luck (with or w/o theme) at your place along with a Sex & The City movie night or Wii game night - divide the girls up into teams

For food you might do a baked potato bar. Bake potatoes then have all different kinds of topping for them

LOL...Libby, the only problem with this idea is I get the feeling my "all girls" nite will diminish into "my hubby heard, and now he wants to come along too" nite! hahaha! But no doubt would be alot of laughs, and I could always just rent a belly dancing video. HMMM....It's starting to grow on me. I could break out my lanterns and candles, and do "quickie" face-vails for everyone. Everyone bring a morrocan dish? Yup...starting to like it more and more. Sure could stand for some fun like that!
Thanks again ladies for the food ideas too. I also love thecard games, and several game boards set up idea.
and mombotto, it's just for a few hours.

Do you guys do any crafts? You could have a mini-retreat. Bring your scrapbooking, quilting or knitting, order in pizza or set up the crock pots.

I love Bunco!
For food...are you on Pinterest? There is a lot of recipes on there.
My favorite is the spinach dip on the back of the lipton veggie soup mix box. 4 ingredients! I serve it with bread.
Or a roll of sausage, a box of cream cheese, spread on cresent rolls and roll. Then cut to make pinwheels.
Hope you have fun!Debt free thanks to Dave Ramsey!
^scratch that...we have a mortgage now.

Girls night - My idea - Bring your pennies! You can play penny poker. The game of choice that we play is called "Screw Your Neighbor" (Link with explanation) We have such fun with this. Lots of laughs. Even if they don't bring pennies, use your own, dole out a purse to each person. Then have a fun gift for the winner. :-)
It is what it is.
