Just need a place to say it.......

After four years or so of financial hardship I FINALLY see light at the end of the tunnel! Last year we paid off one loan and 2 credit cards. My Blazer has 5 more payments and it's paid off!! Dh is getting some overtime at work which helps a LOT! I can finally breathe again and sleep at night. Whoo hoo! Now to get a savings account going and sock away money and get our credit score built back up. I have a budget in place where every single thing is getting paid on time every month with money left over! And yes, I have learned many lessons from this and came out stronger!

I just needed a place to say this "out loud". I can't post it on my Facebook because one of my best friends is in dire financial trouble and gets snarky with any little thing I say in a good way about our finances. My family knows nothing of our problems and I just wanted to get it out LOL!

Kudos to you for all the hard work, paying off and budgeting especially in this economy. Many blessings to you, and may things continue to get easier and more prosperous.

Hubby is just well..hubby LOL. He wants no part of knowing how much we owe, what the payments are, when they are due, etc. He is famous for saying "you decide", "whatever you think", "you take care of it" which of course added to my stress. The entire past year I was having nightmares of having our home foreclosed on and them coming to repossess our vehicles, etc. I had days where I honestly felt like I couldn't breathe. Hubby is the boss at work and has always said he doesn't want to deal with money issues here. So I pretty much took it all on my shoulders and dealt with it the best I could. I have one very close friend that I could vent to but otherwise it was just me LOL.

I finally reached a point about 6 months ago where I just couldn't take it anymore. I had a screaming, crying meltdown and then picked myself up and made a plan. Hubby is very happy and I can see now that he was stressed over it too, just didn't verbalize it at all. But he is grabbing up every minute of overtime he can get (even working 7 days in a row at times and over the summer he worked 10 weekends in a row) to help out.

Congratulations! So happy for you! I just tell hubby and deal with it myself. Easier that way. I tell him where things stand and go from there.
What a relief you must be feeling. You've accomplished a lot.
