Round and round

A police helicopter has been circling just south of my apartment building for about an hour and a half now. I couldn't help but wonder if the pilot is getting dizzy.

I get dizzy watching them look like they are flying sideways. round and round and round and round and round... catch the bad guy already..

If we saw a chopper in our neighborhood, we'd be thinking we should maybe start to run for our lives. Choppers here usually mean forest fire spotters.

Oh that would make me nervous too. When we have brush fires out here the media & police & fire helicopters are up for hours watching it. Some have been near my home, we've never been in danger but we've had some headaches from hearing the helicopters and water dropping planes. We hear police helicopters everyday also the media copters since i am close to a freeway and they are reporting on traffic. Wow i just realized how often i hear helicopters.

In my area (rural New England) they would be looking for marijuana farms. We call it the pot patrol. No other reason for choppers in our area.

We live in a sparsely populated, heavily forested area, so they do a lot of aerial spotting here. The only time we hear or see choppers is during fire season or when someone is being medevacced from the local hospital/clinic. No traffic choppers (no freeway) and it's usually too far from the nearest TV station for them to send choppers.

Sorry to say I live in a city and they usually mean something bad happened. Just two weeks ago today actually two people were stealing, of all things, cheap hotel furniture and the police were called and this one female Sherrif Deputy was the first one to spot them and pulled them over and the driver shot her four times killing her. Other police chased them for about a mile until the stop sticks got them. All this was on quiet road about 1/4 mile behind my house. There were two areas where they were flying over one at the scene she was shot and one where the suspects rolled over.

If what ever happened is real newsworthy they could be there a long time! They sure were here that day!

I never saw any reports about it on the news. I am thinking this helicopter was here to provide aerial support for a search warrant or something. Wow Jas, that sounds like something that would happen out here.
