Bad Weather Tonight
Sure looks like we are in for a night of bad weather. First round of rain and wind have passed. Had a lot of lightning. The sky remains an ominous green, and when I step outside, it is ABSOLUTELY still. Spooky still. We are under a tornado watch, and hope it goes no further. Nevertheless, I have water and peanuts in the basement, have unplugged items, and have a bag of essentials to grab if sirens go off.
How is the weather in your area?Spiritual:

It's been awful all day here in Nebraska. Rain and thunder...scaring the poo out of my dog.

Prayers going out for all you KANSAS people. Your getting hit hard. I'm in Illinois and we had some storms move through but alot of bad ones will be towards morning. Be safe.

Gloomy but fine as we had rain earlier but nothing severe.
Do take care.

I stand corrected. It is coming down sheets and sheets worth. Walking the dog was a chilly ordeal. Poor neighbors.lol

Stay safe. Did you bring your parents to your house, just in case?
Cloudy here, but no storms expected. We've had some rain but could use a foot or two more, over a couple weeks or so of course.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

parents went to sister's house. We were worried about how they would make it into their basement if need be. But the worst of it missed us. Tornado hit west of us. We had hail, wind, lightning, but no damage other than leaves, etc. down. My son's area had it a little worse, but still not too bad. Could have been so much worse for us, as it was for those in OK and Kansas.

Two counties to the west of us suffered a great deal of damage. A little town 10 miles north of us was severely damaged. Whew....

Please forgive my 'probably' simple sounding questions but I have never traveled in the MW.......let alone had to deal with tornado season.....
so...........when you get these warnings do you go to "your shelter" right away or since they are able to let you know with more 'lead time' now do you wait?
What is your shelter? Do you have extra food there too? What is the longest that you have had to remain in your shelter?
Can you tell that I just can't get my mind around preparing for this type of thing????
