Anyone here have a "eye freckle"?

I went for an eye exam in Jan 2011 and was told everything was fine but I had a freckle inside one eye. I was told to come back in 6 months to recheck it

. Well, times gets away from me and I finally made an appt. for Wed. After doing research I understand that eye freckles are usually harmless and just need to be watched. I had never heard of them before. Anyone else have one?

my dd#3 has one behind her left eye. Doc says that its very rare that it would turn into anything else & just to keep an eye on it (no pun intended

) Mostly, they are harmless.

Funny the things we've never heard of until we find out we have it. I know it is very rare to turn into anything.... but I'm a worrier by nature

~Never heard of it. Huh. Learn something new every day! Nice that it's harmless but weird thing to have. What causes them? Sun exposure? How did you know you had it, a vision problem or routine exam?~

I found out about it my routine exam... apparently they aren't uncommon and they have to dialate your eyes to see it so you would never know until you had any exam

I have one in my right eye. I also have a scar and a retinal hemorrhage in that eye. Also bilateral Duane's Syndrome.

I had a minor scare at the eye doctor today...while checking my son's eye the girl went and got the doctor. When they came back in he said they found "something" during his exam *insert knot in stomach here*...turns out its just a freckle IN his eye...only my kid would have something like that.cheapest pharmacy

I have one, in my left eye. No issues, concerns or anything. Doc just took a picture after waiting a couple months to make sure it didn't/doesn't change. Apparently I have freckles in other places too - my first gyn appt with a nurse pactitioner, she says, "Oh, you know you've got a couple freckles down here?" Really? Who knew?

Not to scare anyone, but I was an OR nurse for years and one of our eye surgeons said once that every patient she'd ever had with a spot (don't remember if she called it a freckle or something else)on his or her eye had it turn into a cancerous lesion so please continue to get them checked regularly. Don't want to frighten you, just remember to get exams regularly.
