We are becoming a family of 8....
One of my BFF's, due to life circumstances and some bad decisions has nowhere to go, so she is coming to stay with hubby, I, and the kiddos to get back on her feet. I am a little nervous, but also happy that we can help. The only income she has right now is SSI. So, she will pay us a very small amount and just work on getting back on her feet. In this economy, I know how hard it can be. Please send some positive prayers and thoughts our way.

Yes, we have discussed expectations. Her husband left her after she had been a stay at home mom/wife for 7 plus years. She has a disability, so it has been hard for her to find a job. She has really been trying. I think this will work.

You are a very good person for helping out a friend in need..
This will sound out of line to most people here at the village..but I feel the need to share my experience I had from helping out my BEST friend(this was many many years ago)..I shared everything with her just about anything you can think of other than my sexual relationship with my dh..in the end it came back to bite me as she decided she wanted MY LIFE thinking the grass was greener so to speak and broke up my marriage..I will NEVER have a best friend that comes to my house or talk to my dh on the phone ever again..I never thought in a million years that my dh would do that to me.. I have seen this happen alot over the years..I'm NOT saying this will happen to you but just be aware..YOU NEVER KNOW..Wife to Keith

What I keep thinking of is how many homeless people I see everyday who have no where to go. I'm not worried about her taking my dh. She already has a plan in mind to make her stay as short as possible. She wants to be in her own place and start rebuilding her life. If she were to not be doing what she needs to do she would have to leave our home. It's as simple as that and I've had to do it before.

When we have our ESL students in the house we always ask them their future plans too. So they know we expect a beginning AND and end to their stay.
That way they are always looking towards a future with anticipation. They have something to work towards and don't just sit around in our basement getting depressed.
