I have not been able to wear heels or pointy toe shoes since I was about 20. I wear sensible shoes, if they ain't comfortable, they are GONE.

I love Crocs too, but if I have to be on my feet much, they wreck my back.

I do so totally agree. I like Croc's too........have quite a few pair/colors............but can't wear them in the summer(or for very long).........too hot......they make my feet sweat and heels crack. I do have one pair for gardening but try not to wear them all day.

I am hooked on the Minnetonka Moc............only a couple styles that I like and just had to throw one pair away that was ---I don't know how many years old...........but can wear the leather at any time.

Check out Homespam! It is better fried than typed-spam! It is better fried than typedSteger Moosehide Mukluks and Moccasins - The warmest winter boots! for comfy, long-wearing mocs. 100% made in America.

Wonder how Minnetonka Mocs ended up in NC. Minnetonka is in Minnesota and it's a Sioux word, not Cherokee. I thought they used to be a Minnesota company. Maybe they moved, or maybe I've been wrong all these years.

I have been wearing the Minnetonka for years and I "thought" they were a Minn. Co. too..............not even too sure the last pair I bought off the net (one of two pair I bought last year) wasn't a knock off...........the 'tongues' are uneven, and usually their quality is great.

I have that mukluk in my favorites from talking about their winter boots........but I only saw one that MIGHT be for summer wear and then it looks like it could be hot..............did I miss something? I only saw this one.......... Chippewa-Steger Mukluks

In the minnetonka, this is my main one............Minnetonka - Deerskin Driving Mocs and my other pair was the same WITHOUT the driving sole, which I liked better.

I have only found them in one store here and they usually just carry the suede..........have a pair, but they aren't my favorite. I like the smooth leather.

The THOUGHT that I might have to go shoe shopping just makes me shudder!!! (course, any shopping would do that!! )

There are also the Apaches with a high cuff. Those are my faves and I have two or three pairs. Apache-Steger Mukluks

I also have knee-high mocs I converted from mukluks by buying three sizes too small and removing the pack liners.

And I have a pair of calf-high mocs converted the same way. I really lucked out with those and got them NIB at Salvation Army for only $30. I still can't believe it! Fantastic buy.

Of course the taller ones are warmer, but they're great when camping so the bugs can't chew up my ankles.
