Default I am getting another deep freezer for my birthday ~ woohoo

    My birthday is Aug 11th.

Dh asked weeks ago what I wanted to do. (Since I am a huge fan of going places instead of getting things)...

We are already going to N. Carolina at the end of the month to see his dad/stepmom & sister - so a trip wasn't really in the cards. Just a short over-nighter or super long day trip for my present.

I chose to go to the local casino for an over-nighter (with a coupon for a FREE night of course ~lol)... but still, there would be $$$'s spent. There's food, incidentals, gambling, gas money to get there.... That was ok though, it's all planned.

So last night I was crying, (well, not really crying, just doing that whining & belly-aching that we women do when we want something - hehe)... about how full my freezer was, how I can't get another thing in there, how I have to pull everything out to find anything... and how I sure wish I had a 2nd one nestled beside the first - kind of a his & hers if you will. And Dh says, "Go get one."

Um ~ excuse me.... what???? "Go get one." ..... hmmmm- who is this guy?

    Normally I would hear this:

You had a big one, you sold in a garage sale on a whim one day
You never had it full anyway
Your veggies that you are stockpiling from the garden will eventually be eaten down and there will be space
Why do you want another one

But, none of that.... weird ~ bizarre..... Who are you? And what have you done with my dh????

So, I just kinda let it drop and we went about our night. But, me being a female, I started the think about it (at 2am, no less)... and here is what I came up with.

I shall go buy one...and I shall feel good about my decision, because I am going to make it my b-day present. I will blow off the resort (don't really care about it anyway - it was just something to do) - we can go to our cabin in the woods instead for the night)... huge dollars saved there - and it's only for a night. Once it's over, it's over. The freezer will be the gift that keeps on giving...

I think it all sounds just perfect....

We used to have a 27 cu ft freezer - big enough to put bodies in, LOL! Now we are down to a 15.

I once got a load of manure for my birthday (my request).

If a freezer makes you happy, I say go for it. I BEGGED for a generator for two years of birthdays and Christmases before hubby finally gave in and bought me one! He said it wasn't an exciting gift. I kept telling him, BUT that is what I want! It will run small appliances, my window A/C unit AND the fridge/freezer in the event of a hurricane. THAT makes me happy!

I had a huge freezer a few yrs ago. But it was so large and hard to keep full (at the time I thought)... anyway, when I did pack it full I had to dig around for things.

So I sold it in the garage sale and then my sister gave me her 'apt size' (it must be around 7cu- I will have to find out) - anyway, it's been perfect. And that's the same size I want for my next one.

Maybe it will be less efficient running 2 of them - but in the long run, the lids will be open much less time and I will be able to find things very quickly. (Especially when I keep Dh's junk in one and my wonderful stuff in the other - lol)

Yea, I guess it depends on my mood of the year, as to what I find happiness in when it comes to gifts. This year a freezer is going to do it for me...

Oh trust me - he knows better than to plant a seed into my head and then try to squash it.... lol

I am going to right by a perfect store, well - just happens to be this evening... (how convenient huh- hehe)

Besides I have things ready to go into it... I need my freezer. (See how that works? It went from want to need- just like that)....
