Distilled vinegar to go up in price?
I was wondering if distilled vinegar will be going up in price. It seems to be a good standard item that many of us have on hand for various uses since it is so inexpensive. But I read that in the US it is made from corn.
Just wondering if this is another item that will be affected.

Ours goes up in price every year during canning season............NOW..........I always stock up during the winter months. Try to make sure I have my supply of both........white and apple cider-------by about April.
Will have to check the prices next time at the store...........

Not sure. I have 1 bottle i use for a recipe if it calls for it. My husband hates the smell and so does my daughter. Even if i use it to clean in the morning he can always tell by the afternoon if i have used it. I seen some yesterday at aldi but didn't get any.

It is stinky to clean with. I need to see what the price is at the grocery store also. I normally can purchase a gallon bottle of white vinegar for less than $2.00.

To make a great cleaner take orange peels, stuff them in a jar and cover with white vinegar and cap jar.Let it sit for at least 10 days then strain into a spray bottle. The smell of the vinegar has completely gone, and you are left with a citrus smelling all purpose cleaner.

Ever since the economy went to heck the price of vinegar had gone up steadily. I am a vinegar for cleaning nut! I use to get a gallon for 99 cents but it's just a tad under $2 now. Yikes!Wife
