Thank you Tree for falling the other direction
So im sitting here and all of a sudden we here a huge crash. My hubby and i Thought what the heck was that. The huge Lotus tree came crashing down it runs along the fence in the neibors yard not ours. It ripped right out of the ground pulled all the electric wire out from there house. If it would have landed our way it would have went through our dining room. But now our house and hers run on the same pole so we will be getting power cut soon. They said for at least 4 hours. They said we have had no rain for months and then this morning we got almost 3 inches of rain. So it just up rooted it.

Glad it didn't do major damage. We had one come down on our back porch on our cabin while we were on vacation. It clipped the corner of the roof but only did minor damage, and landed on the little deck back there, where it broke a railing, so that was also minor. And it took down a couple of fence sections, also minor. So we were lucky, too.

Yeah me to. Glad it just landed on the fence and yard. No one got hurt and huge damage. Not sure how much the power company will charge since it was hooked to there house.

I have an evergreen in my front yard I have been thinking about taking down---before it falls........the roots are up and I don't like that.

Living on the Gulf Coast & in part of Hurricane Alley, we cut down our half dead oak tree b/c we were afraid that it would come crashing through the bedroom if we had a big storm. It had already lost a big branch on its own with a good wind.....didn't want to chance it doing anymore damage.
