We only have one vehicle and have no desire to have more than one. We've learnt to do with only one. I'm pretty much a homebody so I don't often need the vehicle. We've also learnt to do everything all in one trip.
We only have 1, too. And, we do want another one. There have been so many times when I needed the truck while dh was at work or something.

We lived with just one for the first seven years of our marriage. We just got a second car in September of this year. We both work full-time too. One of us has always worked days and the other worked nights. When we bought our house, though we really relized we were going to need another car. The house is much farther to work for both of us, Our daughter's school is about eight block away now too. Not an easy walk when the wind-chill is below zero. We got a small SUV, because being homeowners we really need to be able to haul things. Our other car is a Toyota Corolla. Hard to get 8 foot landscape timbers home in a Corolla! (But we have done it!)

Although we have more than one, now, we only had one car for a long time! It was frustrating, to say the least. We don't have public transportation here. We lived several miles from the nearest grocery store or school. We planned our trips, that's for sure! It seems where I live now everyone has two cars.
for a lot of our marriage we had only 1 car and that is fine, right now we have 2, we needed a second the year the triplets were born there were just so many dr appointments and things that 1 just didn't cut it...
