Thought a Good News Thread would be good for us

So many are going through a difficult time now or have gone through one, and I thought it would be great to have a Good News Thread here. Its always encouraging to read good news as well.

My good news:

Surgery for my mom has gone well and she continues to improve daily.

The weather has cooled down and its wonderful to finally have cooler temperatures at night. This is the time of year when all of God's beauty shows up in nature and I love the colors.

The younger kids are all doing well and ready to start another year of homeschooling. Were all looking forward to doing that.

I was just able to get a good deal on chickens, 99¢ a lb. Thats the best price we get in our province, so I purchased a case of them.

I worked an early shift today and we are taking the kids to see
"Finding Nemo" at the $1.00 drive-in.......

Our Deed seems to be holding up well.
Tomatoes & cukes out of garden.
Hubby's shoulder is getting better every day.
It has been cooler here, so made a big pot of soup...some to eat...some to share with Deed...some to freeze.
Guess that's about it for today.

We got some much needed rain...it's been ages.
The weather has been sooooooo cool for the past couple of days which has made everyone here in a much better mood.
Dd made it to see her brother in D.C. (first big trip on her own)!
I'm a very happy momma.

We had a yard sale Saturday and not only did the rain hold off until we were packing up, but I even made $108.00. I finally got rid of the bunkbed frame I have been trying to get rid of.

My husband has been off for the last 8 days and I finally got the shelves in my closet that I wanted. Thanks to some free shelving we got from a business, we only spent $26 for the hardware to hold the rods up. Next.......

My good news is:

My mom is improving and getting around more everyday.

My db and dsil are getting back together again after being separated for a year.

Dh's blood pressure is slowly going down and I've convinced him to go on walks with me most days last week.

Great news everyone!

It's raining here!

While I was dumspster diving for coupons the other day, a lday asked me if I'd lost something in there. I told her I was looking for coupons. She said if it was coupons I was after, I should come over to her car. "I'm not suppose to do this", she said as she handed me a bundle of 10 Sunday inserts! Turned out she is a local distributor for the paper and there's a rural route open here. Dh is being considered for the position. It'd be an extra $1300 per month, plus more than enough coupons to keep me out of the dumpster!
