Thumbs down Grrrr- inconsiderate and incompetent people!

My son referee's soccer games on Saturday when they need him. The coach asked him last night at the football game to work today for a tournament, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. He agreed. The coach said she would bring his shirt and cards to the game in the morning (she keeps them for all the high school boys that ref)

So. . . . . ds plays football last night (played the entire game since we had so many out injured), got home after midnight, got up at 6:00 AM and drove 25 miles to get to the tournament on time. He got there at 7:20, no coach- he calls me and we call her- she's just leaving she says.

So. . . . . 8:00, my son calls again. Still no coach , shirt or cards. We call back- get her out of bed! ! ! She says "it's so hard to get going today- we did have a late night last night." Uhmmm. .. . . excuse me?!? WE sat and watched the game- my son PLAYED it. We got home at least 45 minutes before the players- and HE was up and on time.

Then. . . . . . when she finally got to the game- SHE FORGOT HIS SHIRT! I'm so angry I could spit and my son swears he will never ref for her again.

Thanks for letting me vent- ugh!

Oh, man, and what an example she is to these High School students! Your son must have been so tired after all that.

I don't blame your son, I wouldn't want to ref for her either. I can't believe she found it hard to get up this morning and your son did fine. I would have been angry as well.

What did she say when your son said he wouldn't ref for her again?

I'm so sorry! Your poor son. That lady owes him a huge apology and I hope she paid him even if he was unable to ref if he didn't have a shirt!

I left before she got there- told my son that I'd better or I'd say something I'd regret later. He agreed.

I don't know if he told he wouldn't ref again or not- he did stay today (borrowed someone else's shirt who took pity on him).

I'm waiting for him to come home now.

Give him a big ol hug from me and tell him I'm proud of him for honoring his commitment even if the lady (I and I use that term loosly) didn't!

I don't blame your son for not wanting to ref for her again. She seems very irresponsible.

WEll, he's home and NOT working tomorrow. He did his shift today and then told them no more.

He's exhausted- can barely keep his eyes open, and COLD. It's about 45 degrees out today and raining all day.

I found out at a yard sale , that one of his dearest female friends was rushed to the hospital last night with chest pains (she's 16!). So, he's fighting sleep trying to find out how she is doing now.

Still no word on Rachel- the step mother did say that she should be home tonight though, so I guess that's good news.

Praying for Rachel! That is so scary to happen in someone that young. I hope they know what caused it and can take care of it.
