Default Have you ever written to a celebrity?

This is probably my dumbest question so far LOL.

I sent a new baby card to Sir Paul McCartney today!!!

I know it sounds a bit pretencious (sp?) and maybe it really is, but I'm getting fed up of scratching around with my life. (actually I thought twice about going into that it's probably another post!)

Anyway I've been looking at those celebrity autograph collecting sites and wondering if they are any good.

Have you ever written to a celebrity? Why did you do it if you have and what happened?

I know I really AM nosey LOL.

He should be truly honoured receiving one of your cards!!!! He'll have an original card by Bev!!

No I have not written a note to a celebrity...oh wait, years ago I wrote to the Bay City Rollers requesting that I join their fan club!! Does that count?

Well one of my heroes is Muhammed Ali, I would love to have his autographed picture. I admire his strength and the way he used his head first in the brutal art of boxing. I am not a boxing fan, I just think he was a genius psyching his opponents out the way he did. Maybe I should ask Mom23boys how to get in touch with him She's good at that stuff!

Also I sent Luther Vandross a get well card when he was sick, I hope that helped, I hear he is on the mend.

My socks had pictures of them on and tartan around the tops, I wore them to school with platform shoes and trousers that were too short with BIG tartan turn-ups!

LMAO! I can feel myself blushing just remembering it LOL - You think if my mother had really loved me she wouldn't have let me out like that LOL

When I was a kid we wrote to celebraties for an english assignment. I actually had a book as a kid that listed lots of addresses for famous people. My son wrote several letters to sports figures, and he got a few back to him. Some never sent anything.

As a pre-teen I wrote to two celebs., Melissa Gilbert (laura Ingals on LHOTP)and Henry Winkler.( The Fonz AAYYYY)
I got a form letter back from Melissa Gilbert but I received a lovely hand written letter from Henry Winkler. He even refered to some of the things that I had written to him about. I don't know if it was really he that wrote to me, but I'd like to think it was.

I've never written to a celebrity, just thought about it once in a while but never really got around to it.

I'm thinking about sending a get-well card to a local news anchor who is fighting cancer yet again... does that count?

When I was a kid, I wrote to Charles Schultz (Peanuts creator) ....
It was a school assignment.... He wrote back and signed the letter and drew a snoopy on the bottom...... The letter was lost in my Mother's house..... I wish I had it now, it had a Schultz original on it........
A couple of years ago I wrote to Anne Murray (dh's fav. female singer) I asked her to send an autographed photo for his Birthday and she did, it reads "Happy Birthday Norman (His real first name) Anne Murray Aug 2002 " .........

I wrote to Ian Anderson (of Jethro Tull) (2 times) asking for an autograph.... He did not respond.....

Bev, he's a neighbor of yours, could you talk to him ?????? LOL

I think sending Sir Paul a card was a nice thing to do....... They are so very beautiful !!!!!!!!! I hear he's a nice guy, second nicest Britt (second only to you Bev !!!!!)
