Tonight's Lunar Eclipse
http://msnbc.com/news/978686.asp
I forgot all about this until I saw it on my homepage this morning.
I love stuff like this. Unfortunatly it is overcast here now, I am hoping it will clear up so I can watch it.
Is anyone else going to watch it?

Will, it is still cloudy here so I can't see a THING. It's times like this that I wish I still lived in the mountains and could drive up the blue ridge parkway and see everything in the sky.
I guess I will have to wait for the 2 that are suppose to happen in 2004.
You know, it was cloudy here during the first lunar eclipse of 2003.

It's clear here and it's started. It's really cool. It's like a smudge over 1/3 of the moon at this point. I'm so glad it isn't cloudy because we've been talking about it with Julia for about 2 weeks now!

We're watching too! if you have binoculars, you'll see a little reddish yellow hue that some are atributating to the California fires.

looked just now & it's neat that you can still see the whole moon through the eclipse. It's like a hazy veil over it.

One more thing...it's 27ş and the stars are brilliant tonight. Natures magic at work & what a wonderous sight it is!
Edited to add that my BIL just called to share what he's seeing from North Carolina. Hubby's side of the family gets into all this science stuff big time, I enjoy some of it too. Especially enjoyed the meteor shower we watched at 4am in the dead of winter a couple of winters ago. It was awesome!~*Darlene*~

Well we got to see some of it. The clouds are moving in thicker now, so we didn't get to see the whole thing. Its ok though. Ds is 6 and Dd 2 so their attention spans are small. Ds did call his grandparents in IL to see if they were watching it

Yes, we watched it!!! It was special! Pierre spent almost an hour looking at it! We phoned my parents to watch it, Pierre ran over to the neighbours to tell them...I looked at it with the boys, from the opened window upstair in Patrick's bedroom. The younger boys thought it was exciting!
