Talking Saving (at least) 35% by switching to Geico

We had some problems with our new insurance agent that we got when we moved here. I had been with this company since I started driving but since we moved we figured I would leave my agent for one closer to here. Well to make a long story short we never got anything from him. We lost our insurance and when DH tried to renew our policy we lost all our discounts.

DH was highly PO'ed as was I when I found out but we have to have it so he wrote them a check to cover us for one month and one month only. Last night he was looking at Geico and put in all our info and it was over $150 cheaper for the first month of coverage than the check he wrote Friday afternoon. So he called them and talked to someone and started a policy with them and put a stop payment on the other check.

I sound like those corny commercials, but I really can't believe how much cheaper it is. He looked a prgressive and it was only $400 cheaper a year and this one is over $1000 cheaper a year.

Boy I feel better now. I was so sick when he told me that mess on Friday that I couldn't eat lunch and I was a nervous wreck the rest of the day.

Thought you were that stupid little lizard there for a minute!!

We've had GEICO for years - nobody has ever been able to come close to our rate with them - however our rate tripled when we moved to Texas because we are less than a minute (as the crow flies) for the Mexico border and rates are higher in a border town, but still - they were the cheapest out there......and they do have a great re-underwriting department to review your policy each renewal to see if there are further discounts they are able to offer....

    now, go eat....

Chocolate is a food group baby!! You've done well Grasshoppa!! In fact, if you add some M&Ms to that you'll have a balanced diet going!! And don't forget - if you break the candy bar in half before you take the first bite, all the calories fall out!!

I'm jealous of all of you. Geico won't dare put their lizard selves in NJ, much less most insurance companies. In fact, they're leaving in droves. Our rates are sky high and there's nothing we can do.

Wonderful news. It is NO fun having insurance problems! we use a company called USAA. So far we have had no probs. Geico hasn't been able to beat them yet though.

If I could save $1000.00 a year, than my insurance would only be about $500.00! OTOH, our insurance agent is the BEST. I wouldn't change unless it was a very, very big savings.
