Are you ready to affront the winter?
*sigh*
Are you ready for the long, cold and grey days of winter?
Are you ready to shovel your long driveway?
Are you ready to scrape the ice off your windsheilds of your car?
Are you ready to freeze?
Are you READY?.....
I'm not....
I want to stay warm. I want sunny days.
I want to see green. I want to see blue skies.
I want to see flowers bloom.
I want to see butterflies wander away...
Help...I'm down, just thinking about the next few months of winter...

We've already got the cold, gray days (you should see it out my window right now, gray, yucky and windy), have been scraping ice off the windshield and have froze. Expected lows this weekend are around 9 degrees F.
My kids and I are looking forward to the snow so they can get jobs shoveling it to make money to go snowboarding and buy each other Christmas presents and I can't wait to build a snowman and go sledding.:santa:
Having grown up in Hawaii, I welcome winter! It gives me an excuse to wear all my sweaters and wool socks.
My hubby on the other hand builds home and he has to be out working in the cold, so it's really not his favorite time of the year.
Things that make the winter easier on us are:
~having hot chocolate and cider
~warming up in front of the pellet stove
~cuddling under blankets with a good book
~going to bed early
~watching our favorite old classic movies on videos
~baking cookies and treats
~doing more crafts
Hope this helps lift your spirits a bit!

I am ready, we had a long hot summer with many 100+ degree days so I am ready for the cold days and long nights of winter. I can always put on another layer of clothing but there is a limit to how much I can take off, LOL. I do feel for anyone who has to work outside in it though.

I am ready for those cold nights. I love snuggling weather.
I love drinking hot cocoa.
I don't like to scrape the ice off the windshield though.
We don't usually get any snow, but we get ice.

Y'all should come on down our way if you'd like to escape the cold, snowy, freezy times.....it's rare that you would need a jacket on all day - certainly in the mornings and after dark, but *most* of the time during the day it's warm-ish.....nothing like the Virginia winters that we came from!!

It doesn't really get to cold here.We may go only a month of low temps. We have a few cool nights already and had to keep the heat on but prob nothing to what you guys deal with lol
We haven't gotten snow since I was pregnant with Jackson in 2001 and then it was MAYBE 1½ inches and let me tell you I bout froze outside taking pics of katie LOL!!! I like the cold weather...I'd move up north and deal with the snow in a heart beat but Steve wouldn't....he says he wouldn't like to have to get up every morning and shoveling his truck off before we left for work (he leaves now at 3:30am) I said we'd just have to buy a house with a garage
then he'd just have to shovel the driveway lol

I am not ready but it is too late! It's already here! No snow yet but it is coming soon. It's a hassle taking the baby out in it. Plus it gets dark so early here.

I hate, hate, hate the winter. I am a weenie about cold and I cannot drive in the snow. I am awful at it. I slide all over, just bad at it.
I have though purchased a new window scraper, some sidewalk salt, and some anti freeze (not a big deal...i DON'T drive in the snow, ice or sleet). I miss the desert in California (NTC Ft Irwin)where i spent most of my teen years each time winter rolls around.~~ Missy ~~

We're already freezing here, have been off & on for a few weeks now. They said last night that the snow level may drop to 500ft. so we might get some snow here. Yesterday we had winds up to 60mph here but they have stopped for now.

It's the cold, dark, gloomy days I hate the most

I enjoy baking and cooking when it's cold outside.
We had a short summer due to a rainy and gloomy spring, so I don't feel like I've recovered mentally from the horrible blizzard-filled winter we had last year. ( I know that sounds stupid, lol)
DH plows snow, so I am left here to fend for myself and the kids-shoveling, keeping warm, making sure there is enough food, etc. and making food for him. He's been doing this since we've been together, so I'm used to it.
I hate winter.....I do love Christmas though! I'm having trouble getting in the spirit for that, too. I'm not ready! Waahh
