Update on me.

Well, I am half way through radiation treatments. I was scheduled for 33 treatments and have done 18 of them. I have 8 more to go on the full breast and then the last 8 are going to be localized where the cancer was.

Once a week I see the doctor, which was yesterday. I have some tanning from the radiation, usually I get like a crispy critter in the sun!

And I also have some soreness under my breast. I have to put an ointment on twice a day.

This radiation stuff is a piece of cake compared to chemo!

I'm still tired a lot, but it is getting better. I can no longer nap every afternoon, because that is when I have to be at my treatment.

My hair is slowly coming in, not much to speak of yet. I was hoping I could stop wearing hats as I detest them. But it is pretty cold here so yesterday I went and got some more fleece at JoAnn's and made 4 more hats this morning. Now I have a warm hat for every day of the week!

The only real downside to this is I am having horrendous night sweats! They usually start around 5-6 pm when I am getting tired and don't stop! I wake up at least half a dozen times a night drenched. As soon as it passes then I'm freezing! Crazy hormones are going to drive me nuts!

I forgot to add, I should be done with treatments (if the weather cooperates) either Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas. Jack is having cataract surgery on the 18th, so I may have to take that day off to drive him home and I will miss my treatment. Unless he is still in recovery and I can run over to the other side of the hospital and fit in my 15 minute appointment.

WooHoo! Half-way there! The downhill slide...this is going to be a cakewalk for you girl!

I was going to PM this to you, but I'm sure it's a shared feeling for many of us....your perspective on all of this has certainly caused me to stop and take inventory of attitude...ever since my cancer was found, my glass has been half-empty - negativity ran deep...but you my friend have had a half-full glass throughout....I'm so proud of you I could just burst!! My glass will be half-full - that's my new goal...you're an inspiration to us all....Love ya Dee!!

WOW!! You are almost through! I'm glad they are going pretty well. I have to have 2 treatments on the 12th nd 15th of January.

I hope things keep getting easier for you!
