At work today...
A good, or should I say a great thing happened. No I didn't get a raise or anything like that (it would be nice though...lol)
I work at a Post Net (same concept as a Mail Boxes, Etc or a Pack-N-Ship place)
Anyway we are seeing a lot of last minute shippers this year and the first one I waited on was the best. He came in with over $200 worth of toys (it may not seem like a lot but when you hear this it really is). Apparently he has a daughter that lives in Maine and she told him about a lady whose children weren't going to have anythinkg for Christmas. His daughter got the address for him and a list of some things the kids might like and he went to the toy store last night and bought stuff for them. He has never meet this family and on all the gifts he put "From Santa"
Even on the shipping lable that was going to be on the box I put "Santa Claus" instead of his name. With Christmas approaching UPS told us that regular ground shipments may or may not make it. He sent the package ground and as he was living I told the owner and she asked where he was. I told her he was outside. She said that if he was willing to do that for someone he never met that she was willing to split the difference to make sure they get their Christmas. He paid for ground and she sent the package 2-day air. Now they will get the gifts by the 23rd and the package will say from Santa. He even told us if we get a call next week wanting to know who sent them we are to tell the mother that it was a little fat man in a red suit.
All of us were almost in tears when we found out what this man had done.
It's nice to know there are still people out there that realize that Christmas is not about what you get, but about what you give to others.

You often hear about people being mugged and purses stolen this time of year so this is a nice story you don't hear about very often! What an angel he was!!!!

That is so sweet, I am thrilled to hear this story. Kinda restores some faith in people's generosity, and in the human spirit.

That brings tears to my eyes. What a wonderful man. I hope that God blesses him with many blessings this year. Your manager too, what a wonderful thing for her to do. Debbie is right, they are heros.

Thanks for sharing. Little did that man know how many other lives he touched by giving of himself so generously.
