Ah, CJ, that's very nice of you, to bump it for me....

So finally, we have decided to go with the smae server *Videotron*....they offer high speed with cable and also dial up. We will try their offer which is 3 months free, then we pay $14.95/month for 100 hours. We calculated it well and we think 100 hours should be ok. I am mostly the only who goes to internet, anyhow...I will be timing myself though...just incase. With 100 hours, that can make 3 hours a day...that's alot. We don't spend 3 hours a day on the internet...(I think )

I have a worry, though.... I'm afraid of how slow it will be...I'm afraid of not being to post as much....I really love this place...I don't want to miss out on anything!

Who has changed from high speed to dial up?...How do you cope? lol

    Thanks!

Lucie, when we moved from Winnipeg to here, I panicked, because we were going from DSL to dial-up. I use the internet a lot (as you probably all know) so I was really concerned.

But our dial-up service is just as fast as DSL was in the city. We have unlimited hours too, good thing. We also had unlimited in the city.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the hours. If you watch carefully, it should be fine.

Well, looks like we will wait until march to change to change to dial up...if we do now, we are penalize, because we had a yearly contract and we'd have to pay $25 (half of our high speed) for feb. and march. plus the $14.95...plus paying something more because we also had gotten the modem cheaper with the yearly contract...anyways...so we will change for begining april...

I am happy in a sense, because I love high speed, but it's the $50 a month, I hate...oh well, 2 more months, then we will pay less...

Thanks CJ. You got me reassured, that I won't lose too much speed. Actually, some days, I find my high speed slow! I love internet so much, I really don't want to lose anything.

Glad you are okay for now. I think the adjustment to Dial Up will be okay too. Like everything else, once we get used to it, its alright. The only time it drives me crazy is when I am downloading something big.

Thanks Pat! I guess I will be ok. I hardly ever download something. I mostly come here!
